IRELAND — Comedic actor Jim Carrey laid his ex-girlfriend to rest on Saturday during an emotional service at Ireland’s Our Lady of Fatima Church in the village of Cappawhite in County Tipperary. Hundreds of mourners were also in attendance. Jim, who served as a pallbearer, joined relatives and friends of Cathriona White to say goodbye one last time. Cathriona, 30, committed suicide last week. She left a note for Jim but details of what was written haven’t been disclosed.

According to multiple reports, the Irish-born makeup artist was depressed about a recent breakup with Jim and she had a difficult time coping with the anniversary of her dad’s death. Cathriona also received a harsh message from her mother that may have helped trigger the suicide.
Jim, 53, was one of six people who carried Cathriona’s coffin from the church to a local cemetery, where she was reportedly laid to rest next to her father Pat who died of cancer in 2012. Jim and Cathriona dated each other off and on since meeting in 2012. After the service, Jim posted a silhouette of himself and Cathriona on Twitter with the caption: “Love cannot be lost.”
Cathriona is married to Scientologist Mark Burton.
But they were preparing to divorce.
